On the front is the Horus Name of Tutankhamun, illustrated with a sun-disk weilding scarab beetle standing on a mound: Neb-Kheper-Re. Flanking the shaft of the ankh-shaped mirror case are cartouches of Tutankhamun: the left one reads "Tut-Ankh-Amun, ruler of Upper Heliopolis" and the right one reads "Neb-Kheper-Re." This is an ironic piece in that the work ankh in Egyptian can mean "mirror," which is the shape this mirror case takes.
